Adrian and I have had a fabulous summer touring around Korea on our motorcycle. We try to make the most of our weekends and our time here in Korea. So we hop aboard our trusty KLR and embark on a different adventure each weekend, which always gives us something to look forward to. In some respects, Korea is a relaxed country, so we are able to pitch our tent on any sandy beach we stumble across, which makes a weekend away quite cost effective.
Adrian and I have both come to agree that riding a motorcycle through a new place is the best way to fully experience the culture, see the people and how they truly live. Fully relying on public transport limits you in so many ways. Riding out of the city has enabled us to explore so many regions of this beautiful country that we would not have been able to see otherwise.
We have lots of fun fooling around and being silly!
And meeting new friends along the way! Adrian rescued this little guy who got his legs all tangled up in the bushes. From our campsite on the beach we kept hearing loud screams like a little baby, but it was this little guy…he was very happy to be free!
One of the many beaches that we have camped on. It is so nice to relax and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
You can never go wrong with a BBQ on the beach…Chicken, zucchini, mushrooms, onions = the perfect combination.
We always find yummy restaurants along the way. This restaurant is one of my favs. It is tucked in the mountains, about an hour away from our apartment, with a very cozy log cabin vibe. I got a scrumptious noodle soup called “Call-gook-su,” which is homemade wheat noodles mixed with lots of veggies, seaweed, and egg in a seafood broth. The best things I could relate this soup to is a really good bowl of chicken noodle soup. It is just a good, comforting and filling soup…yum yum!
Our motorcycle always brings us to fun and new places, so I will continue to share them with you.
