Today was the most glorious sunny day, so Adrian and I decided to take advantage of the warm weather, while we still have it, and enjoy a relaxing day at the beach. We traveled via subway to the most popular beach in Busan, South Korea. In July and August this beach is ridiculously busy (see pic below), but in the spring and fall the beach is underused by most Koreans, making it the perfect place to spend the day.
I think this beach actually holds the Guinness Record for the most people and umbrellas on one beach; no joke!
One of the best things about going to this area of the city is all the wonderful food choices. Adrian and I were anticipating a delicious sandwich from a restaurant called “Buccella.” Most people take eating a good sandwich for granted, but when you live in a place where bread and sandwiches are quite uncommon, enjoying a good sandwich is an enlightened experience. We enjoyed the nice beach view while noshing on two very yummy sandwiches, which we split so that we could taste both…one was a fresh salmon sandwich and the other was a taco inspired chicken sandwich.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch (obviously) and then stretched out on the beach to digest and catch some rays. The water was perfect and we had lots of fun playing in the waves.
We were even luck enough to spot a pirate ship! Ha! How random is that eh? That’s Adrian up front there checking it out.
Another delicious and relaxing day. I don’t really know what our plans are for Sunday; maybe a motorbike ride or a hike up the mountain with a picnic…we will see! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
