No Teddy Bear Picnic here, it’s a kitten’s picnic!
“If you go out to the beach today
You’re sure of a big surprise.
If you go out to the beach today.
You’d better go in disguise.
For every kitten that ever there was will gather there for certain, because
Today’s the day the kittens have their picnic.”
It was a sunny Sunday today, so we decided to pack up a picnic to eat on the beach. I made up some scrumptious tuna sandwiches, along with some carrot sticks and apple slices with cinnamon.
The tuna salad consisted of a mix of plain yogurt, chopped red and yellow peppers, sweet mustard, salt, pepper and a little sprinkle of curry powder. All topped off with some sliced zucchini and crunchy lettuce leaves.
I love picnics and this one was delish!
Now, you are probably wondering how kittens fit into this lovely picnic…?
As we were walking around to find the prefect picnic spot we heard little squeaks coming from the bushes. Adrian is as curious as a cat, so he headed into the bushes to find out what was making the noise. Look what he came out with!
Aren’t they the most precious things you have ever seen? They are two little sisters I think. Our friends have been wanting a kitty for a while now, so we decided to snatch these guys up and give them a good home.
So these two chilled out on the beach with us for the afternoon and enjoyed a nice picnic 🙂
Here they are hanging out inside my cooler bag…the sun was a little too bright for them…so this was a nice little refuge.
The funniest part of this whole experience was riding back to our apartment, on the motorcycle, with the kittys in the bag. I kept them securely in my lap; though I still don’t think they really liked the ride all that much. (I am sure some of you can relate with having to bring your cats into the car to take them to the vet; it was a very similar reaction.)
But they are safe and sound now and are doing well. I wish I could keep them myself, but we are heading back to Canada in a month or so. Too bad!
Happy Sunday everyone!
